  • If The Exorcist movie was adjusted to take into account inflation, it would become the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.
  • The vomit used in the movie was Andersen’s Pea Soup. They originally tried Cambell’s Pea Soup, but didn’t like how it looked.
  • Audrey Hepburn was the favorite to play the mother in The Exorcist, but she turned the role down unless the movie was filmed in Rome.
  • In The Exorcist movie, Regan (played by Linda Blair) turns her head almost completely around to face backward. A life-like dummy with a swivel neck performed the famous scene. The sound of her neck turning was made by twisting an old leather wallet around a microphone.
  • Billy Graham has said that a real demon may exist within the original reels of The Exorcist.
  • Many sources consider The Exorcist a the greatest horror film of all time.
  • Linda Blair (Regan) was also featured in the movie Hell Night.
